  • Mrs Firth, Chief Operations Officer

    Mrs Firth is the Chief Operations Officer at The Greetland Academy Trust and has worked with us since January 2005.

    Before having a career break to bring up her family Mrs Firth worked at a chartered accountants. In 1996 she began working for the Local Authority Education Department as secretary to the Behaviour Support Team. She then became the School Administrator at Salterhebble J & I School, Halifax. During her time at Salterhebble she gained the NCSL Certificate in School Business Management. Mrs Firth is also a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE) with her specialities being in Academy Transfer/Conversion and School Business Management and a mentor for new School Business Managers in the local authority.

    Mrs Firth oversees the day to day running of the school with her main focuses being the administration of its day to day business, facilities and human resources. She attends weekly senior management team meetings and termly governing body meetings to report on these areas.

    Schools throughout West Yorkshire, the Local Authority and National Leader Organisations have requested that Mrs Firth provide advice and support on issues such as Academy Transfer, Health & Safety, Procurement, the Obesity Strategy and the organisation of school meals.

    Mrs Firth has taken part in our annual residential trips to Edale & Whitby on several occasions and enjoys opportunities to be with the children including helping with FOGS (Friends of Greetland School) events.

    Outside of school Mrs Firth is a keen swimmer and walker with her favourite sport being skiing. She has a daughter, Rebecca, who works in Banking and a son, Jack, who works in IT.

    Mrs Firth likes being a part of the Greetland Academy team:
    “No two days are the same and I enjoy the challenge of dealing with a such a large variety of work.”

  • Mrs Rawson, Chief Finance Officer

    Mrs Rawson is the Chief Finance Officer at The Greetland Academy Trust. She joined the school on the 1st October 2011.

    Mrs Rawson’s background is in finance management. She was a Finance Manager at Marks and Spencer for eleven years before taking a career break to have a family. During her time with M&S she moved around all over the country, also worked in southern Ireland and also held Divisional Management responsibilities.

    Mrs Rawson returned to work as the Bursar at the Halifax Learning Zone in 2001, which later changed its name and is now the Calderdale Excellence Partnership. These organisations work with 26 schools in Halifax that face ‘challenging circumstances’ to help raise achievement and support collaborative practices.

    Mrs Rawson is AAT qualified (Association of Accounting Technicians) and has also successfully completed the NCSL School Business Management programme. In addition, she is an accredited Specialist Leader of Education with regard to academy finance. Her knowledge and experience is utilised by the Education Funding Agency as part of her position on their Academy Finance and Assurance Steering Group.

    Mrs Rawson knows the school well as she has two children who attended the school. Mrs Rawson is a Governor at the school, which started out as being a parent Governor whilst her children attended Greetland.

    In her spare time she is an active Church member for whom she is their Treasurer, enjoys running, reading and eating good food!

  • Ms Thompson, Catering Manager

    Ms Thompson joined the Greetland Academy in September 2014 at the start of the expanding schools project. Before joining Greetland as our Catering Manager she worked for Bradford Council as a service development facilitator and assisted in looking after 30 primary school catering contracts for which she trained and developed employees to reach their full potential in catering. 

    Having spent 13 years of trekking from school to school Ms Thompson decided she would like to devote herself a single setting and successfully became our Catering Manager. She now puts all her time, energy and knowledge into producing meals for Greetland and our 3 other catering contracts.

    In her spare time Ms Thompson enjoys cooking meals at home and spending quality time with her 3 children. Jake is a Stonemason, Leah is studying hard to work in Social Care and Ella works in Retail. She also has 2 granddaughters, Beau and Annabelle, and is always on standby for babysitting duties and of course, lots of cuddles!

  • Miss Marsden, School Administrator

    Miss Marsden joined Greetland Primary School, as it was then, in May 2005. She is the school’s administrator working in the main reception office at KS2. She oversees the day to day running of the office which can include anything from greeting guests to school, taking phone calls and putting plasters on poorly knees! She works alongside our Business Manager & Bursar doing accounts and payroll.

    Before joining Greetland School, Miss Marsden worked in hospitality, training in hotel reception & management. Having two children meant she could no longer work the hours that came with that career, this led her to work in administration.

    When she is not working she likes to spend time with her family and socialise with friends. Walking her dog Buddy is another way she finds to relax.

  • Ms Blackburn, Key Stage 1 Administrator

    Ms Blackburn is an administrator for our school. She is based in our KS1 office and deals with parent, teacher and pupil queries and makes the arrangements for our new intake children.  At the beginning of the school day she welcomes KS1 children into breakfast club and looks after school meal and uniform orders, registers and various other duties of a busy school office.

    With a background in accounts and customer service, Ms Blackburn moved into the child care sector after having her children, becoming Administrator, Treasurer then Chairperson of her local Pre-School.  Subsequently she became a qualified Nursery Nurse and the Child Protection Officer for her setting.

    In 2006 Ms Blackburn began working for Greetland Academy. “I enjoy my role within the school where I am able to use my previous experience of accounts, customer service and child care in my current post.  The part of the job I enjoy most is helping parents and children with their queries and concerns.”
