School Council - 'Pupil Voice'

School Council 2016

The school council is made up of 16 pupil representatives from Key Stage 2. Each class holds a democratic election to select 2 children to represent their class on the council. The elected council members then fairly elect a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary. The council meets three times per half term with Miss Wild, to discuss issues which children in every class have asked their councillors to raise. Ensuring that this 'pupil voice' is heard and acted upon is an important role.

The school council has an official 'ideas and suggestions' book in which they record what their classmates have said ready for the next meeting. The Council Secretaries, Anna and Francesca, take minutes of our meetings as each item is discussed. The representatives from each class then feedback to their peers regarding the outcomes of each item. The minutes are then forwarded to the Head of School, Mr Dixon.
